The post Counter-Strike 2 Premier Rank Distribution [Updated Rating] appeared first on GameRiv.
]]>Counter-Strike 2 is Valve’s upgrade to the fan-favorite Global Offensive. The tactical shooter is a graphical overhaul with new mechanics and, most importantly, a new way to rank up. The Premier matchmaking system comes with new leaderboards and a numerical ELO rating that adjusts after every game.
The previous ranking system returns with the revamped matchmaking system and Premier Mode. It works the same as in CS:GO, just on a per-map basis. So even if you master a single map, your rank will only update for that particular map, not the others. This allows you to grind new maps for a new rank without losing your progress on your other ranks.
We updated the global Premier ratings on March 7, 2024.”
The Counter-Strike 2 Premier is a new addition to the game. The new rating system or Premier, can more precisely calibrate which ranks are closest to you skill-wise and match them with your team and against you. By having a numerical ELO number attached to you, the game can translate that into a relative skill pool.
Previously, even when you were in the same rank, the skill disparity caused issues and questions among the players. The new rating system tries to combat that and provide a fairer system.
The Premier ranking system is color-coded for every 5,000 rating points. The color codes are the same as the weapon rarity colors in the game, so the higher the rarity, the better your rank.
The current Counter-Strike 2 Premier rating brackets are as follows:
Valve’s leaderboard only shows you the top 1,000 players for every region and the world’s top 1,000 overall. However, the popular Counter-Strike stats tracker, Leetify, and csgostats analyze demo files and have their own database with a huge sample size.
Here are the numbers for the Premier rank distribution for the current season, as reported by csstats.gg*:

Currently, Valve has not revealed details on when and how the rank reset will occur. It is, however, not too far-fetched to assume that a seasonal reset will occur after every major cycle. Valve hosts a major every six months, so without any other information available, we can assume, at the latest, a rank reset will occur after a major end and a new season of competition will begin.

It isn’t that surprising that among the picked weapons in the ALGS Pro League, the Volt is near the top. It is one of the most reliable damage dealers in the loot cycle. In addition, the 30-30 is also a preferred weapon in all regions. Overall, SMGs are dominating most of the spots. The preference is seen towards SMGs and damage-dealing semi-autos. As the season progresses, maybe the stats will change to reflect a shift in the meta.

There are also changes to armor and the addition of perks. However, Respawn does best with the cosmetics, and the arrival of the Steeled Demon-themed bundle is no exception.
Fuse has been a fan favorite for his bold personality for a while now. So, he seemed to be a great option for a thematic bundle store sale. This is the first of many themed events and cosmetic sales that Breakout has to offer.
Data miners and leakers have revealed the majority of the upcoming skins that will be released in Season 20, and more will be leaked with the upcoming patches. The mega changes to the game do not take the spotlight away from Respawn’s new approach to cosmetics. The rumored skin packs and bundles are expected to become fan favorites sooner rather than later.

]]>The post VALORANT Agent Tier List [Episode 8 Act 3] appeared first on GameRiv.
]]>Riot’s competitive first-person shooter, VALORANT, has amassed a large player base, ranging from the most casual and laid-back player to the one aiming to go pro. The unique Agent-based gameplay has created some unique quirks that the developers must adjust now and then to keep things changing.
This fragile balancing act allows certain Agents to be more viable than others. With every balance patch, Riot adjusts how they want the game to be played out, and as a result, your favorite Agent may no longer be viable or even rise to become the top-tier pick for every game.

Currently, there are a total of 24 Agents in Riot Games’ VALORANT. Clove was the last agent added to the game in patch 8.06. Riot Games is constantly working on adding new agents with unique skills to the game.
This Agents Tier list is based on our view after experiencing the game ourselves at multiple rank levels, analyzing the pick rates and win rates for all the Agents across different ranks, and even looking into the professional scene to see which Agents are preferred by those at the top.
Do keep in mind that this list is not objectively the best pick at all times and that your personal views and experiences may affect the final outcome. With that said, as of Episode 8 Act 3, the following is our pick of the current tier list for the best Agents in VALORANT.
Tier | Agents |
---|---|
S- Tier | ![]() |
A- Tier | |
B- Tier | |
C- Tier | |
D- Tier |
In the last section, we showcased all the Agents and where they belong in the tier list. However, nobody plays all the agents. So, in this section, we’ll go through the ten best Agents that you should consider picking while playing Competitive.
Nonetheless, here are the top 10 VALORANT Agents you should play right now in the 8.04 patch:
Omen enters our VALORANT Agent Tier List as one of the more versatile Agents to pick from. His Smoke and Flash combo has gained importance as a hybrid Agent. The Versatile Controller is now one of the top picks across multiple Skill Ranges.
Chamber used to be a meta-defining agent in his early dates. Later, Riot came up with a massive nerf for almost all of his abilities. So much so this French weapon designer almost disappeared from the scene. However, with patch 8.03, Chamber is receiving some impactful buff, which may bring back some of his lost capabilities as a fierce sentinel.
Raze drops down after her nerfs. She was a versatile Corner Clearer, but both her Paint Shells (E) and Blast Pack (Q) got significantly nerfed in the latest patch. She is still a great option.
Sova remains a strong candidate for a must-pick agent on specific maps. Sova’s Recon Bolt (E) is a staple for scanning enemies and clearing hard angles before attacking or retaking any site.
Jett has undoubtedly returned to the top after the changes to the game. The focus on duels and gunfights favors the skilled Duelist players, and Jett dominates the playing field across multiple top-skill ranges.
Unsurprisingly, Killjoy is the best Sentinal Agent. Even in Champions 2023, she had the highest pick rate. Moreover, she didn’t receive any Nerfs afterward. Her utility is unmatched in most maps, and any strong team composition needs to have her on the team.
In the 7.12 and 8.01 patches, Gekko received some significant buffs to his abilities, bringing him into the Initiator meta for most maps. Since his notable buffs, you can see a lot of Gekkos in VALORANT-ranked matches in the current state.
Clove is undoubtedly one of the best agents to pick right now. As intended, the agent works both as duelist and controller. Although there are some setbacks, they are negligible compared to the advantages they provide.
Reyna enters our list as the hard-hitting Duelist. Nerfs all around her have made Reyna a standout Pick for confident aimers. Her Devour (Q) and Dismiss (E) make her a potent weapon for the quick reactors in the server.
The surveillance expert Cypher is our top-picked Agent for the upcoming season. Cypher has received multiple buffs that make his kit extremely oppressive if not dealt with quickly. This has put the Moroccan Surveillance Expert on a higher priority pick and the second highest Sentinal on our list.
A player will pick their favorite agent and hope that they are now one of the best. However, a winning team must consider balance. A Pub game may have 5 Duelists running around and hitting shots, but you need a good team composition if you want to improve your Rank and grind your way to the top.
So, to help you out, we’ve created the best possible team composition from our VALORANT Agent tier list. VALORANT has added 10 competitive maps since its release. However, not all of them are in the active pool. Here, we will choose the best team compositions for the currently active maps in the competitive map pool rotation.
Keep in mind that not every map will have every agent as viable, even if they are high on the tier list. This is by no means the objectively best choice in all situations, just one that would work most of the time!

The landscape of VALORANT will no doubt change from patch to patch as the developers add more Agents and hope to balance out the game. As the direction of the developers shifts, so will the meta, and therefore, the VALORANT Agent tier list will also shift.

A new bug has surfaced as the game is going into week 2. Players are complaining that upon completing missions, they are not receiving their XP or cash rewards. This is concerning as progression cannot be maintained, and players will be stuck at a lower level even after grinding the game. The community has collectively warned players not to play until a resolution is found.

The developers were very quick to resolve this issue. Player progression is the most important part, especially in a PvE event. Therefore, it was the top priority for the devs. As such, within 24 hours, Arrowhead Game Studio announced that they had pushed an update that fixed this issue.
The patch notes in Steam recognized the bugs and quickly rolled out a fix. This should fix any issues remaining with progression. Your Helldivers 2 mission reward should be redeemed easily. If you’re still facing issues, try to validate your game files through Steam. It should fix the issue instantly.
